
EUFOTON was founded in 1997 in Trieste with the aim of designing, manufacturing and marketing portable surgical and medical lasers. These tools consist of semiconductors (diodes), which do not wear down, do not need constant maintenance, do not show high consumption of active materials and are much more innovative compared to their predecessors, which were mostly gas tube lasers.
Since its foundation Eufoton has put strong emphasis on launching new products on a market, which initially was not particularly interested in these new semiconductors. Eufoton has taken advantage of the participation in several conferences in order to promote and advertise its new products and has placed them on the domestic market, thus providing a valid alternative to foreign products, thanks to their high technological quality and easiness of use.
Lasers can be applied to a wide range of medical fields (odontology, dermatology, vascular and repair surgery, orthopaedics), cosmetology and physiotherapy, though in the last two cases the doctor has to take responsibility of using this device. EUFOTON organizes also professional trainings on laser technologies and the optimal and interdisciplinary use of their functions. The company is currently selling its products on the Italian market through an agent network and in the short run it is expected to be introduced on the European market as well.

Instrument
Both main absorption coefficients (fat and water) at 1470 nm are higher than 1320 nm or 1064 nm.
This means a much faster fat emulsification using low power with a very limited thermal damage on peripheral tissues.
Others wavelengths need higher power to amplify fat emulsification but the weak point is that this also amplifies the possibility for thermal side effects.

It is similar to a Nd-Yag Laser and therefore ideal for:

- Endovascular treatments of varicosities
- General, dental and E.N.T. surgery

- Laser treatment _ to decompress a slipped disc. A 980 nm diode allows also a reasonable water absorption thanks to its enhanced capacity to slit, penetrate and coagulate.
Its use is ideal to treat deep vascular lesions with thick and hypertrophic vasal walls thanks to its good interaction with the water chromophore.
The replacement of the focusing surgical ferrule with the defocusing bell-shaped handpiece allows the laser to be used for therapeutical purposes, while the scanner allows it to be used on wide surfaces

A single Laser for a wide-ranging use represents the best solution for the several medical-surgical treatments.
It is portable, easy to use, it has a wide range of accessories and does not need any maintenance.
LASEmaR 800™ nm diode laser is available in two versions: standard and with a single fibre, to meet the different needs of the specialists using lasers for surgical-medical purposes.
The main features of a 808 nm diode are: compactness, reliability, low consumption and duration for thousands of hours. This kind of Laser allows a selective photothermolysis on melanin chromophores (dyschromias - hair), haemovasal chromophores (angiomas - teleangiectasias) and normochromic lesions, which have been artificially stained by means of exogenous chromophores. Such devices permit to make use of low energy levels, thus avoiding any damage to the surrounding tissues as well as anaesthesia and stitches.
In case of small mistakes along the boarders of the stained areas due to unintentional movements by the surgeon or to unpredictable movements by anxious patients or children, the healthy surrounding tissues will not be damaged.
Standard version: from the direct connection between the optical fibre diode and the ferrule derives its utmost easiness of use.

Single-fibre version: it permits treatments involving a direct contact between the tool and the patient (endoluminal, endovascular, endocavitary and dental). To this version all standard handpieces can be applied. The single fibre permits the endoluminal photosclerosis of the lower limbs varicosities.
